Balm of Gilead

There are some lives which are too white
From long, dark staying in.
Hid from your ultra-violet light,
They hope to save their skin.

But I would like some colour so
I cannot stay inside,
Although for stepping out I know
That you may have my hide.

Anoint me with what Christ prepared
For such a mortal man.
Then you can have the glory, Lord.
I only want the tan.
